| The..Test | Everything at Rogers revolves around The Test.
Every day (and twice on Thursday), students shoot The Test. The Test is made up of nine separate stages with a total of 125 possible hits. Some stages are shot freestyle, some strong hand only, and some weak hand only. Some are shot from a ready position, others from the holster. Your best score out of all six tests determines your graduation status:
No one has ever shot a perfect 125 score on the test. The test is as follows:
By the end of the week, each student shot the test a total of six times for a maximum aggregate score of 750 points. However, as mentioned above, only the student's best score of the week determined his graduation status (fail, Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced). |

| The..Lodge | With the exception of our Canadian visitor, everyone in
the class stayed at the school lodge located about twenty minutes from the range.
Three bunk rooms (each with its own pair of showers, commodes, and sinks) can hold up to
eighteen students. An upstairs area intended for ping-pong and other recreational
activities immediately became a logistics center for cleaning and inspecting
pistols. The downstair served dual purpose as a cafeteria and TV room. Breakfast and dinner -- excellent home-cooked Southern fare -- were served every day at the lodge, and lunch was included as well out at the ranges. This was really a great way to keep everyone together and on time. No one had to walk off or drive away to get lunch, so lunch was kept to a very tight thirty minute break. |
